If you've ever watched your child struggle to hold a pencil, fumble with a zip or get frustrated cutting along a line, you've probably wondered how to help. The good news is that you don't need worksheets or special equipment. A baking tray, a handful of everyday materials and ten quiet minutes can do a surprising amount of work.

Sensory play is any activity that engages one or more of your child's senses: touch, sight, hearing, smell and taste, plus two lesser-known ones, movement (vestibular) and body awareness (proprioception). Think play dough, water beads, kinetic sand, mud kitchens, finger painting, scented playdough, music and shaker bottles, or climbing and jumping games.

Did I plan on starting a kids sensory business with 2 toddlers, a FIFO husband and another successful business on my plate - NO! However, I saw a real opportunity to share what I was doing with my kids with other busy mum's who wanted the same enriching play without spending hours trying to find all the bits - so here it is!
